Auto Racing Technik was founded in Melbourne, Victoria in 1989 by brothers Raymund and Dean Ong. As the venture grew, it was officially renamed in October 1994.

 

With a modest beginning in Toorak, and working from a 100m2 office/store, it was originally founded to support the active club racer with on board electronic management systems, suspension and road dynamic preparation, intake and exhaust enhancements, etc. Organizing frequent advance driver track days and driver training skid courses, the business provided a unique service to its clients.

 

Today located at 37-39 Kolora Road, Heidelberg West 3081, Victoria,  AutoRacingTechnik is within 15 minutes of Melbourne CBD. 

 

With a total working area of more than 1300m2, covering  workshop, display and offices, this modern facility includes an inground AWD chassis dynamometer, full mechanical workshop with wheel balancing/ tyre changing/wheel alignment bay, complete electronic fuel injection/engine management test and upgrade equipment (aftermarket ECU calibration, factory OBD/BDM flash calibration).  AutoRacingTechnik is equipped to take on any project, from the basic oil change to complete race car preparation to legislative road vehicle testing and approval.  AutoRacingTechnik is the automotive performance solution experts.

 

Our workshop and equipment have been certified for specific testing by the Australian Federal Department of Transport and Road Safety (DOTARS), as well as the state Victorian road traffic authority (VicRoads).  The workshop is currently certified to ISO9000 standards (Registered Automotive Workshop Scheme), and a member of the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers.  With over 3 decades in the performance automotive industry AutoRacingTechnik is equipped to design, test and manufacture a wide range of performance products, and we are represented overseas in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. 

  

AutoRacingTechnik has devoted countless hours engineering and testing performance products both on test benches as well as on race tracks. With our wealth of autosport knowledge and utilising quality products and processes in assembly operations, we are able to provide our clients a superior performance package, and the ability to offer our clients options above and beyond the average local automotive business. 

 

For the future, AutoRacingTechnik/TechnikTuning will continue to expand and upgrade its Melbourne facility to meet the demands of the modern performance vehicle.  At the same time, increase our involvement in the South-east Asian market to include similar facilities, services and technical support throughout this region.
